I am an art director and photographer based in the peak district in the UK.
My love of adventure was first awakened when my uncle - a National Geographic photographer - crossed the Sahara in his Land Rover in the 1970’s.
I have since visited over 50 countries but only recently decided to communicate the sense of wonder I have when I travel.
I strive to create a powerful sense of place through compelling imagery and vivid narratives - always leaving room for mystery.
When we travel suddenly all our senses are set to “on”. A day can last a year and we can surround ourselves, as in childhood, with what we cannot fully understand.
I find inspiration in 20th century photography, art, cinema and literature - Manuel Alavarez Bravo, Andrei Tarkovsky, Paul Bowles, Jorge Luis Borges.
My work is informed by my career as an Art Director at the Wunderman and Ogilvy communications agencies in London. Where I created campaigns for some of the worlds largest brands.
I hold a BA(Hons) in Art Direction from Camberwell College of Art.
My experience as an art director has convinced me of the power of storytelling. It is the purest form of communication there is.
Do you have a story you would like me to tell?
